We can sometimes be led to believe that our value and identity is wrapped up in our careers. We may have subconsciously bought into the lie that if we have a lucrative or successful career, then we're more valuable in the culture and to our families. The culture can send the message that we, as women, are more capable, intellectual or valuable if we can hold down a full-time career and fulfill our role as mother.
